MassDevelopment in partnership with the Massachusetts Cultural Council has approved funding of $135,000 from the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund to CitySpace. The Capital grant will go towards design and engineering costs for renovation of the Easthampton’s old Town Hall 2nd floor to create an accessible performing arts and community space. This successful application follows an award of CPA match funding for the project.

On May 18, 2017, the Baker-Polito Administration and Massachusetts Cultural Council announced $9.3 million in new awards from Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund (CFF), celebrating over $100 million in total cultural sector investments since the fund was established ten years ago. An additional $10 million in funding was included in the Baker-Polito Administration’s Fiscal Year 2018 Capital Budget Plan.

CitySpace President, Ed Check said, “The CitySpace board members are jumping for joy with this news! We are celebrating our ten-year anniversary in old Town Hall and the plans to open a community performance space upstairs in moving from daydreaming to reality. We could have never reached this milestone without the help of the Massachusetts Cultural Commission and the local Community Preservation Act funding. Thank you everyone for believing in our mission.”
