Old Town Hall Construction Updates
Collaboration, Precision, and Safety

Progress continues at Easthampton’s historic Old Town Hall, where the team is hard at work on CitySpace’s elevator and accessible entryway addition. This essential phase of the project brings us closer to making the building accessible for visitors, performers, and community members.
Hatfield Construction shared this update:
“Collaboration, Precision, and Safety: Building the Foundation for Accessibility at CitySpace!
Our team is on site at Easthampton’s historic Old Town Hall, executing the crucial foundation work for the new Elevator and Accessible Entryway Addition. This is a project that demands the highest level of precision and teamwork.
Working in the tight space between these two landmark buildings is a significant challenge, but our crew is operating collaboratively and safely every step of the way.”
That collaboration was on full display this week as the crew poured two yards of concrete for the short wall above the thick pour against the original stone foundation. Because the top of this wall sits higher than the cement truck chute, a pump was required to deliver the concrete accurately and safely into place.
The photos show the care and coordination involved in this phase, from the compact work zone to the precision of the concrete pour. Each step is part of a larger effort to ensure the new addition blends seamlessly with Old Town Hall’s historic structure while meeting modern accessibility standards.
This foundation work sets the stage for the next phase of construction: adding the elevator and accessible entryway that will finally connect all floors of Old Town Hall.
Stay tuned for more updates as CitySpace continues building access in Old Town Hall.
