Planning for construction

Construction is officially underway on the new elevator and entryway at Old Town Hall, but before the true shovels hit the ground, careful planning is essential. While the project’s design is relatively straightforward, its execution is anything but. Set within a tight footprint on Easthampton’s busy Main Street, the work must unfold without disrupting the daily life of the building and provide safety measures for its surroundings. That means that Big Red Frame, the ECA gallery, and performances in the Blue Room will continue as planned. Even the removal of something as simple as a public mailbox must be timed with precision. The first visible sign of change you may notice? A temporary accessible ramp at the front stairs, ensuring Old Town Hall remains open and accessible throughout the construction.
